REDUCE the risk of SIDS :

Put a baby on his BACK to sleep from birth (NEVER on his side or front)
Sleep baby with his HEAD and FACE UNDERCOVERED
Keep your baby in a SMOKE FREE environment house and car)
ROOM SHARE until at least 6 months

Bed Sharing is NOT safe if :

Parent is a smoker
Parent has had alcohol or drugs that make you drowsy
Parent is excessively tired
Bed is a sofa, lounge or waterbed
The bed has pillows, a soft mattress or other children in the bed
Baby can fall out the bed
Baby can slip under the covers
Baby can get trapped between the mattress and wall
baby can overheat
